University of Toronto – Global Professional LLM 2018-2019 Is in Full Swing
Another academic year is set to start at Toronto’s Faculty of Law, where students from across Canada come to participate in a special Global Professional program in pursuit of their LLM degrees.
This September, the dean welcomed 213 new first-years, alongside executive, transfer, graduate and returning students. Many of them have arrived at the campus early to enjoy Faculty of Law’s annual Welcome Back festivities.
Organized and hosted by the faculty’s dean, the annual festivities start with a casual barbeque on the back lawn. For first-year students especially, this is a nice opportunity to meet their future classmates and feel the campus pulse, all while basking in the Indian summer’s sun.
After this year’s Welcome Back BBQ, students gathered in the Jackman Law Building Atrium for the annual Clubs Fair. The Fair gave a platform to no less than 44 student clubs and organizations, offering extra-curriculum activities and encouraging student socialization.
Students were able to choose between discussion panels, clinical legal advocacy and law journals, among other law-related activities. The Fair also hosted sign-up booths for students interested in sports and arts. The Faculty of Law’ Athletic Association, the Supreme Chords (student choir) and Law Follies (student theatre) had the best turnout.
Toronto’s Faculty of Law is proud to have one of the most diverse programs in the country, with 58% of students being women, 35% students of color and 9% members of the LGBTQ community.
We wish them all a successful academic year.
