Professionals interested in advancing their cross-border careers may consider applying for the University at Buffalo School of Law's (UB Law) LLM in Cross-Border Legal Studies program, a first of its kind in America. UB Law launched this innovative and revolutionary LLM program May 2017 and is inviting applicants holding a prior law degree to enroll for its first class to begin fall 2018.
UB Law is the only law school of the State University of New York. It also offers other LLM programs besides the LLM in Cross Border Legal Studies:
- General LLM
- LLM in Criminal Law
- LLM in Environmental Law
Applications to the LLM programs are on a rolling basis, which means consideration will be made until space is available. With the low cost of living in Buffalo and the affordable tuition fees of UB Law's LLM programs, the Law School provides one of the best value LLMs in the US. Partial merit funding and scholarships are also provided to numerous applicants.
The LLM in Cross-Border Legal Studies is designed to meet the need for skilled practitioners who can guide clients through cross-border interactions. Those enrolled in the program will be exposed to various legal issues on cross-border via an experiential learning environment.
Located 20 minutes from America's biggest trading partner, Canada, the Law School can provide the LLM students with the necessary exposure to cross-border issues in and out of the classroom. The students will also be afforded a strong network of alumni in Ontario, New York and Buffalo, who are engaged in different areas of cross-border legal practice: immigration, tax, trade, transactional work, corporate work, and real estate.
