The American Immigration Lawyers Association has just established a new law journal and chosen another member of its inaugural editorial board. The new AILA Law Journal will cover themes such as local and national immigration law, its business implications, and new areas of policy and legislation.
The new editorial board member is Geoffrey Hoffman, who is a clinical associate professor at the University of Houston Law School and a director of this school’s Immigration Clinic. Hoffman is expected to serve on the editorial board for at least one year, says the AILA Law Journal editor in chief.
Apart from being one of its editors, the professor will also contribute an article to the new law journal.
Editor in chief Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, who is Hoffman’s peer from Penn State Law, explained that the new AILA Law Journal will provide a go-to platform for both AILA and non-AILA members, to help them “understand, interpret, and support” new reactions to a “swiftly changing legal landscape”.
The immigration law and immigration law-related topics will be the main focus of the new journal, which will provide thorough expert analysis in a refreshingly accessible way. The AILA Law Journal is aimed to serve practitioners and academics alike, stated its editor in chief Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia.
Professor Hoffman will greatly contribute to this AILA mission, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association will hopefully continue to further advance the dynamic field of immigration law.
