EU and UK LLM students at the Queen’s University Belfast would be interested to learn about the Kyle Scholarships being offered to those admitted to the LLM in International Business Law program of the School of Law for the September 2018 intake. Application to the scholarship is on-going and will be received until the deadline of 20 June 2018.
The value of each Kyle Scholarship is £5,000 and will be payable upon confirmation of the enrollment to the LLM program. To be eligible, applicants must also submit with the application form a written statement composed of no more than 750 words outlining why they want to take the LLM in International Business Law at the University, what they intend to achieve through the program, and its impact to their career and/or ambitions.
Besides the Kyle Scholarships, Queen's University Belfast offers other scholarship opportunities to its LLM students including the James Macquitty Law Scholarship. Application deadline is 20 June 2018. This is open not only to those admitted to the LLM in International Business Law but the other LLM programs offered by the University, such as the following:
- LLM (Law)
- LLM in Human Rights
- LLM in Human Rights and Criminal Justice
- LLM in Criminology and Criminal Justice
This is open only to incoming LLM students who acquired their law degree from a law school in Northern Ireland. The value of the James Macquitty Law Scholarship is up to £15,000 payable in three installments, as follows:
- first installment - upon enrollment in September 2018;
- second installment - at the start of the second semester in February 2019; and,
- third installment - on September 2019 upon submission of the LLM dissertation.
This scholarship was established in 2002 in honor of James MacQuitty QC, a Queen's University Belfast alumnus and a distinguished member of the Northern Ireland and English Bars.
