The Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is offering more scholarships for LLM students besides the 10 partial LLM scholarships previously reported by Translegal. The following financial grants are offered, particularly to incoming LLM students for 2018 intake:
- Norman Palmer Partial Scholarship
- William & Mary LLM Scholarship
The Norman Palmer Partial Scholarship is given in honor of Norman Palmer, who was QMUL's Institute of Art and Law academic principal. This scholarship will be awarded to two full-time students who will be accepted to the LLM in Art, Business and Law program. The Normal Palmer scholarship covers 1/3 of the tuition, to be offset against the student's tuition fee invoice. The criteria for choosing the deserving LLM students are as follows:
- academic merit
- 1000-word personal statement based on QMUL-provided questions
- professional and/or extracurricular achievements
- financial need
To be eligible, the applicant for the scholarship should first get an admissions offer to the LLM in Arts, Business and Law program. It is advised that scholarship aspirants apply to the LLM program no later than 19 February 2018. Deadline of application for the Norman Palmer Scholarship is 19 March 2018, 16:00 GMT.
The William & Mary LLM Scholarship is offered to law students who are in their final year of study. The awardee will be given a chance to take an LLM course offered at the College of William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law. This scholarship is given each year to a QMUL LLB Law or BA Law and Politics student about to graduate. The William & Mary LLM Scholarship will cover the chosen student's full tuition fees, air fare, food and accommodation expenses and a stipend that is equal to the British postgraduate students' grant.
