International LLM students at the Wuhan University have the opportunity of obtaining a full scholarship that will help them go through their two-year LLM in International Law and Chinese Law. Wuhan University is located in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei in China. It is a leading university under the Chinese government's administration, particularly through the Ministry of Education.
The Chinese Government Scholarships are offered by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China to encourage international talents who have wide horizon and excellent legal ethics to gain a systematic mastery of relevant international and Chinese law. They will be expected to utilize their proficiency in English when offering legal services to various enterprises, including international organizations in China, Sino-foreign ventures overseas, foreign law firms, public institutions and state organs.
Applications to the scholarship should be written in English and must be submitted prior to the 29 June 2018 deadline. The LLM program in Wuhan University will start September 2018 and can be completed in two years, full-time, in residence. Candidates must be highly proficient in the English language to be considered.
The scholarship is not open to Chinese residents but to students from developing countries admitted to the LLM program at Wuhan University. Each full scholarship will cover the following:
- entire tuition fees
- accommodation fees
- teaching material fees
- English teaching subsidy
- research and investigation fees
- graduation thesis guidance fees
- medical insurance costs
- round-trip airfare
- 36000RMB/year living expenses
- 3000RMB/person one-off settlement allowance
All financial support will be for the duration of the LLM program only and will be forfeited in case of deferment. Application must be done online through the Wuhan University website where further information is provided.
