Scholarship Opportunity for Non-Indonesian LLM Students at Jenderal Soedirman University
Established in 1963, Jenderal Soedirman University got its name from Jenderal Soedirman, the Indonesian army's first commander-in-chief. The Indonesian army fought for Indonesia's Independence, thus the honor afforded to him. Located in Central Java, Indonesia, the University is currently offering the newly launched Jenderal Soedirman Scholarships to its postgraduate students for academic year 2018/19.
The scholarship is open to non-Indonesian Master's (up to 2 years) or Doctorate (up to 3 years) students admitted to the University. This effectively qualifies LLM students admitted to either of the two Master of Laws degrees offered by its Faculty of Law:
- Law Science (Master)
- Notariate (Master)
The selection process for the scholarship is highly competitive as it is not only offered to Master of Laws students but also those taking masters and doctoral programs from 25 other fields besides law. The deadline of application for the scholarship is 31 December 2018.
The value of the scholarship depends on the applicant's academic level. Master's scholars will receive a monthly allowance of IDR 3,500,000 and Doctoral scholars will get IDR 4,000,000 monthly. The awardees will also receive an allowance for the cost of living, insurances, accommodation, and books.
To be eligible, the applicant must have a Bachelor's degree and must not be a citizen of Indonesia. The applicant should also be able to prove English proficiency and must have received a minimum of 7.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent. Applicants should submit a signed curriculum vitae, proof of language abilities, transcripts of records, copy of medical statement, recent letters of recommendation from previous university with stamp and signature, and copies of awarded degrees.
