The Cumberland School of Law at Samford University is offering a new online LLM program and now accepting applications for the August 2018 intake. It comprised of 30 credit hours and may be accomplished in 24 months. Students of the new LLM program may choose from any of the following four concentrations:
- health law and policy;
- legal project management;
- financial services regulatory compliance; and,
- higher education law and compliance.
This Master of Laws program is open only to holders of a previous law degree. Those pursuing their JD at Cumberland Law School may opt to pursue a joint-degree option. The LLM program will give lawyers the specialized expertise and legal practice skills that will allow them to excel in these areas of law.
It will be to the interest of non-lawyers seeking to gain further legal education that Cumberland School of Law is also offering a new online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) program besides the LLM program. By taking this program, even those without a JD degree may pursue any of the four concentrations also offered by the LLM program.
The two new online graduate degrees will prepare students for various roles in regulatory affairs, compliance, health issues, etc. While most of the program will be held online, the students will need to attend the orientation on campus. This will take place on August 10 to 11, before the fall 2018 classes. Application deadline for both new online Master's programs is 1 June 2018. Classes will start 27 August 2018.
