The University of Wisconsin-Madison has released new information about its research-based degree programs.

These research programs are designed for post-graduate students with either a JD degree from a US university or an LLB degree from a foreign University.

The LLM and SJD programs are perfect for students who intend to build their careers as legal scholars or researchers. Coursework is not required throughout these programs - they revolve around research, writing and mandatory attendance to workshops and seminars.

All students will need to complete these programs within a four year period.

The deadline for applying for their 2020 Fall intake is set for March 1st, 2020. The application will open on September 1st, 2019.

There is a non-refundable application fee of $60 that students will need to pay when submitting their documentation.

Required documentation for the application:

  • Personal Statement
  • Resume
  • Research Proposal
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts
