LLM Student Greatly Benefits from His LLM in International Law Experience at Griffith University
Griffith University Law School LLM student Austin Whittaker has recently spoken about the benefits he acquired from his LLM in International Law experience. Griffith is an Australian University that belongs to the top 3% in the world, according to the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The Law School offers three online LLM programs, as follows:
- LLM in International Law
- LLM in Global Law
- LLM in Criminology and Criminal Justice
LLM aspirants may learn from Whittaker, a former LLM in International Law student who professes many advantages obtained from taking this program. Whittaker is quite familiar with high pressure situations, including hostage negotiations and international business. He undertook a range of professions before deciding to return to tertiary study. He served in the NSW police and the Australian Army. He also managed an international security firm as well as a renewable energy start-up.
However, given his keen interest in international business, particularly at a time when he has been taking more complex career roles that involved intellectual property contracts amounting to tens of millions of dollars, Whittaker decided to enhance his knowledge and skills in international law, and enroll in Griffith Law School.
Prior to taking the LLM program, he first completed the Graduate Certificate in International Law Practice also at Griffith Law School. He was initially apprehensive concerning whether or not to take a legal course since he had had no legal training. Yet, he managed to use what he learned from the Law School and apply this to his own commercial transactions. The flexible schedule offered by the entirely-online LLM program allowed Whittaker to continue with his busy job while studying.
Austin Whittaker's situation is similar to many other professionals. Those who want to gain the advantages of a postgraduate legal education may well learn from his experience. Interested students may now apply for the LLM in International Law or other LLM programs offered by Griffith Law School. For its July 2018 intake, applications will be accepted until 11 June 2018.
