The LLM programs are for one year, full-time and in residence. Classes start every August and tuition and fees are $57,684. Given that 2017 classes have started, incoming applications will be considered for 2018 LLM courses. Applications and requirements for the 2018 academic school year will be accepted as early as October 2017 up to January 2018, and may be submitted through LSAC. Prospective LLM students may opt to download the application form from the Michigan Law website and send it to the university with the requirements via courier or post.
While Michigan Law opens its LLM courses worldwide to anyone in the legal profession, such as law graduates, government officials, lawyers in private practice, corporate lawyers, etc., it has a high admissions standard to maintain. Part of its stringent requirement is an English proficiency score of 100 for TOEFL or 7.0 for IELTS. With this selective approach, Michigan Law is assured of accommodating only the most intellectually qualified LLM students to make up its small LLM classes of 35-40 students.
