LLM Applications in the University of Houston Law Center Ongoing for the Spring Intake

The University of Houston is located in the country's fourth largest city. Its Law Center was cited for being one of the best values in terms of legal education and one of the most diverse. Its LLM programs are known worldwide for being the most innovative. It currently offers six specialized LLM programs as follows:

  • LLM in U.S. Law
  • LLM in International Law
  • LLM in Health Law
  • LLM in Intellectual Property & Information Law
  • LLM in Tax Law
  • LLM in Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Law

The LLM programs may be taken full time for 1 year of part time for up to 3 years. These programs are quite dynamic an allows for flexibility. Houston Law has two intakes for its LLM degrees, i.e., January and August. It also employs a rolling admissions system but applications for the August intake will be considered after January 1 and for the January or Spring intake, review of applications starts September 1.

All applications must be coursed through the LSAC and the requirements will be verified by the LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS). The applications for the Spring 2017 intake is ongoing and deadlines are as follows:

Spring Semester (January 2018) –Applicants with U.S. Law Degree only

Regular Decision November 15 CAS Report December 8
Late Decision January 2 CAS Report January 12

 

Applicants with their law degrees acquired outside the US may start their LLM August 2018. Applications for Fall 2018 may start after 1 January 2018. The following deadlines will be imposed:

Fall Semester (August 2018)                                     

Applicants with Non U.S. Law Degree

Regular Decision April 15 CAS Report April 27
Late Decision June 1 CAS Report June 15

 

Applicants with U.S. Law Degree

Regular Decision June 1 CAS Report June 15
