This is the third of a series of news articles on the scholarships offered by King's College London (KCL) to LLM students. Besides the Singapore Scholarship Fund and the Norman Spink Scholarship Fund earlier reported at Translegal, KCL also offers the Bosco Tso and Emily Ng Scholarship for the 2018/19 academic year. This scholarship is open to all students taking any of KCL's LLM programs starting September 2018 and who are in need of financial assistance.
KCL has recently launched the Bosco Tso and Emily Ng Scholarship representing the generous gift of Mr. Bosco Tso, a KCL alumnus who wants to support KCL students taking up Master of Laws programs in KCL. All LLM aspirants can apply whether from UK, EU or international students. One fully-funded scholarship will be awarded to a deserving LLM student this year.
The scholarship amounts to £22,500 which will cover tuition fees and living allowance. Only those who are given a place in the LLM program for 1-year starting Fall 2018 will be considered. Selection will be based on the financial need and the personal statement the applicant will submit.
The applicable tuition fees for the 2018-19 academic year are as follows:
- £15,600 - for UK/EU students (if granted the scholarship, tuition fee will be fully covered and the excess of £6,900 will go to living expenses)
- £23,940 - for international students (if granted the scholarship, the entire amount will go to tuition fees with only an excess of £1,440 to be paid by the student)
The application deadline is 13 April 2018. Results will be published by June 2018.
