The University of Manchester is cognizant of the busy schedules lawyers and legal professionals have. This is why its School of Law offered an LLM in Healthcare Ethics and Law program that can be acquired through a distance learning platform. The program can be obtained entirely online, full-time (12 months) or part-time (24 to 27 months).
The online LLM program has a single intake yearly, i.e., September. For the 2018 classes, applications are now on-going and will be accepted until August 15 for UK or EU applicants and June 15 for international student applicants. This LLM program is ideal for those whose interests are in the medical law field and wants to apply legal and bioethical theories to real life scenarios.
The applicable tuition fees for the online LLM are £4,667 per year for EU or UK students and £9,000 per year for international students. To be eligible, the applicant should have at least an Upper Second class honors degree in law/relevant subject, or its equivalent in the student's country of origin.
For those without a first degree, it should be noted that on exceptional circumstance, admission to the LLM program may be allowed to those who can demonstrate professional competence. However, this will only apply if the applicant will first acquire the Postgraduate Diploma course. Upon completing this course, the student may be transferred to the LLM degree. The transfer is only possible once all marks for the taught components of the Diploma course have been released and will show that the student achieved Master's level grades in the relevant modules.
Besides the online LLM in Healthcare Ethics and Law, the University of Manchester School of Law also offers the following LLM programs, which can be taken full-time or part-time:
