Prospective students intending to obtain an LLM degree from New York University (NYU) School of Law must take note of the deadlines set forth by the Law School. All applications, including the submission of requirements, must be completed through LSAC and accomplished preferably (not required) at least two weeks prior to deadline. Submissions after the deadline may not be considered.
For the full time LLM programs, the deadline is 15 December 2017 for students with foreign educational credentials. These are applicants who whose legal education were acquired outside the U.S. The program being applied for has a Fall 2018 intake. For applicants whose legal credentials are obtain in the U.S., the following deadlines apply:
- LLM in Taxation - 1 February 2018 for the priority scholarship deadline; 2 April 2018 as final deadline
- LLM in Legal Theory - 1 February 2018
- Other LLM Programs - 2 April 2018
The foregoing deadlines are for the Fall 2018 entry and apply only to LLM applicants who acquired their law degree in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. The deadlines also apply to applicants having a foreign degree and a US law degree.
As for those who will apply for NYU Law's part time LLM offerings, the deadline for the Spring 2018 intake is 1 November 2017 and for the Fall 2018 entry, the deadline is 1 June 2018. NYU Law's Fall 2018 intake for its part time programs will open its applications by January 2018. Applicants intending to get into the part time LLM program with credentials gained outside the U.S. are advised to make their submissions in the fall since the preliminary required courses will be offered only starting August.
