2018 LLM Scholarships and Funding at the Edinburgh Law School

The University of Edinburgh Law School offers several scholarships and funding options to students taking the relevant LLM programs starting September 2018. The following are the available scholarships for LLM students:

  • Edinburgh Law School/Binks Trust Scholarship for the LLM in Human Rights
  • Cameron Scholarship in Comparative and European Private Law LLM
  • Tercentenary Awards for Excellence
  • Edinburgh Law School LLM in European Law Scholarship
  • Edinburgh Legal Education Trust Scholarships

Three partial Edinburgh Law School/Binks Trust Scholarships will be offered to full-time students of the LLM in Human Rights during the Fall 2018 intake. This scholarship is worth £5,000, paid upon registration, towards the student's tuition fees. It is open to citizens or residents of any country besides those in Europe, North America, New Zealand or Australia. The application deadline is 7 February 2018.

One partial Ewan Cameron Scholarship will be awarded to any deserving full-time admitted student of the LLM in Comparative and European Private Law with September 2018 entry. It will cover £5,000 of the awardee's tuition fee. Application deadline is 30 March 2018.

Three Tercentenary Awards for Excellence will be given to deserving students admitted to any of the LLM or MSc distance learning (online) programs with September 2018 entry. The award amount is £5000 to be used towards the students' tuition fees. The application deadline is 30 March 2018.

One Edinburgh Law School LLM in European Law Scholarship will be awarded to a UK/EU applicant of the LLM in European Law program. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee. The application deadline is 30 April 2018.

Finally, one Edinburgh Legal Education Trust Scholarship will be offered to a student who applied to the LLM by Research in Scots Private Law. This scholarship consists of fees and maintenance funding amounting to about £10,162. An additional amount for assistance not exceeding £400 per year will also be provided to the awardee. Application deadline is 7 May 2018.
