Matching legalese with plain English meanings

Please purchase the course before starting the lesson.

Legalese is the special language used by, and for, lawyers. It is often difficult for non-lawyers to understand. Non-lawyers prefer plain English, and many jurisdictions consider it best practice for lawyers to draft legal texts using plain English wherever possible. It is important to be able to understand legalese. However, where possible plain English is preferred when writing legal documents.
