buy-sell agreement

an agreement between the owners of a business that they will buy the shares owned in their business by a particular business investor if that investor dies or no longer wants to keep the shares
The second policy is a buy-sell agreement – that is, if Mrs Smith were to die, the policy would pay out the business and Christo Bornman would be obliged to buy her shares. This money would go to her estate.
