This 20-unit, interactive, online course teaches 500 essential Legal English terms necessary for using English in the practice of law. This is a basic course designed to provide the learner with key Legal English vocabulary common to all areas of legal practice. After this course, the learner can then go on to learning the essential vocabulary in particular fields of law, for example Company Law, Contracts Law, and Commercial Law.

PLEAD is also appropriate for self-study by lawyers and law students who wish to improve their Legal English through self-study.
PLEAD is a cooperation between TransLegal, the Boston University School of Law, the Boston University Center for English Language and Orientation Programs, and Cambridge University Press using a “blended learning” approach which combines live instruction based on the coursebook, International Legal English, and online self-study courses.
The 15 unit online, self-study course provides extensive language training that supplements the vocabulary taught in the International Legal English coursebook.
