Basic Legal English: The Legal English 500©

This is an introductory course designed to provide the learner with key Legal English vocabulary common to all areas of legal practice. The course teaches 500 terms essential for using English in the practice of law. Following this course, the learner can go on to learn the essential vocabulary in particular fields of law, such as company law, contract law, and other commercial law areas.

Contract Law

A 15-unit, interactive, online course teaching the essential Legal English terminology in the area of the law of contract law, including basic concepts in contract law, remedies, non-competition agreements and confidentiality, assignment and third party rights, parol evidence, guarantees, indemnities, warranties, conditions and other contract terms.

Company Law

IP Law

The Legal English of Intellectual Property Law is a 15-unit online course combining video, audio and interactive elements. The course contains units in the area of trade mark law, copyright law, patent law, design law, e-commerce, domain name disputes, geographical indications, parallel imports, drafting IP agreements, IP due diligence and the law of the Internet.

As well as work on terminology, grammar, and reading and listening skills, the course also includes tasks designed to train letter writing skills, dealing with colleagues and clients and the differences between British and American English.
