Erasmus University Rotterdam was established in 1973, but its history dates back to 1913.
The faculties of Law and Social Sciences were established in the 1960s, followed later by Philosophy, History and Arts, and Business Administration.
In 1966, the government established the Medical Faculty Rotterdam and in 1973, the Medical Faculty Rotterdam and the Netherlands School of Economics merged to become Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Erasmus University Rotterdam, is the first university in the Netherlands named after a person, the man to whom Rotterdam owes its reputation in the academic world, Desiderius Erasmus.
The Erasmus School of Law offers a first-class education with individual attention and, in particular, two international master's degree programmes.
In addition, students can select from an array of courses and international postgraduate degrees, if they wish to continue studying after the LLM programme.
The School of Law currently hosts around 4,000 Dutch and 120 foreign students.
International and European Public Law Programme:

Commercial Law Programme:
