- Chapman University was founded in 1861 and is one of the oldest private universities in California. Chapman's picturesque campus is located in the heart of Orange County and draws outstanding students from across the United States and around the world. Known for its blend of liberal arts and professional programs, Chapman University encompasses seven different schools and colleges.

Centered in the historic City of Orange and within an hour's drive from Los Angeles, Chapman offers a community-rich environment blended with city life and outdoor adventure. There are many opportunities for internships, part-time jobs and cultural activities in Orange County and L.A. Within easy driving distance to the beach, mountains and desert, Chapman is a prime location for active students.
- Chapman University School of Law ("Chapman Law") was only recently founded (in 1995), but has quickly impressed with its education environment and resources. Located in Orange, California, the school's reputation has steadily risen since its inception.
Chapman is surprisingly selective in its admissions process with only 30% of its applicants gaining admittance. This speaks both to the selectivity of the school and the popularity of the school with its increasing number of applicants.
The tax law program is especially well-regarded at Chapman, which is now ranked within the top 20 in the United States by USNews and World Report. Chapman also offers a number of joint degrees, including a JD/MBA.
Students generally consider the atmosphere at Chapman a bit more relaxed than other law schools. The student-to-faculty ratio is much better (i.e. smaller) than many other similarly ranked law schools, resulting in smaller classes and a more personalised experience.
- Chapman has a variety of LL.M. programs that appeal to both U.S. and International students, including: Taxation, Prosecutorial Science, and LL.M. with Emphasis in Trial Advocacy (with court residency), Business Law & Economics, Entertainment & Media Law, and International & Comparative Law.
Qualified candidates may also elect a General LL.M. with other specializations with special permission.
Courses in the LL.M. programs are taught by a mixture of experienced full-time professors and leading practitioners who bring extensive real-world experience to very specialized areas of legal practice. Chapman's curriculums are designed to provide each student with a background in the program areas most often encountered, while allowing each student to choose specialized courses according to his or her interest.

- The admission requirements are different for each LLM program. The information below lists the minimum requirements in order for the school to consider a candidate for admission.
LL.M. in TAXATION
Admission is limited to those who are either: (1) are members in good standing of the Bar of any State or the District of Columbia; or (2) are recipients of a J.D. or LL.B. degree from an ABA-accredited law school; or (3) an international applicant who has the equivalent of a U.S. law degree from an accredited institution outside the United States or be a practicing attorney outside the United States.
LL.M.'s in TRIAL ADVOCACY, BUSINESS LAW & ECONOMICS, ENTERTAINMENT & MEDIA LAW and INTERNATIONAL & COMPARATIVE LAW
Admission to the LL.M. in these specialization areas is limited to those who: (1) are recipients of a J.D. or LL.B. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, or (2) if you are an international applicant, you should have the equivalent of a U.S. law degree from an accredited institution outside the United States.
LL.M. in PROSECUTORIAL SCIENCE
Admission to the LL.M. in Prosecutorial Science program is limited to American attorneys who: (1) Possess three or more years experience in criminal prosecution and (2) Are currently active prosecutors who are members in good standing in their respective state bar association. At this time, the LL.M. in Prosecutorial Science is not open to international applicants. - LL.M. in Taxation
