- Case Western Reserve University (also known as either Case Western, Case, or CWRU) is a private research university located in Cleveland, Ohio in the United States. In total, the university boasts over 4,300 undergraduates and 5,500 graduate and professional students. Case Western is particularly well known for its medical school, its dental school, and its biomedical teaching and research capabilities.
The university is approximately five miles (8 km) east of downtown Cleveland in University Circle, a 550-acre (220 ha) area containing numerous educational, medical and cultural institutions. Case Western Reserve has a number of programs taught in conjunction with nearby institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic, The University Hospitals of Cleveland, The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Play House.
- Founded in 1892, CWRU School of Law was one of the first schools accredited by the American Bar Association and was a charter member of the American Association of Law Schools and the Order of the Coif.
Its student body includes approximately 645 JD students and 50 LLM students.
