The term discrimination refers to the unfair treatment of a person or particular group of people differently because of their race, religion or sex etc. Many states now have very strong anti-discrimination legislation in force, and employers, advertisers and other groups must be careful to comply with laws relating to sex, race, religion, age and disability discrimination.
