verification noun

the process by which lawyers check that the information in documents produced when a company sells shares is accurate, true and not misleading (if it is not, the directors of the company can be held criminally and civilly responsible)
One of the steps in the verification process is to ask the directors written questions which aim to establish that each statement in the Prospectus which may be relevant to a potential investor is true.
